Goals

 




They say that we all need to set a goal since it is the blueprint in which we wish to attain a meaningful life. So, it is most likely that for a few days, after the new year, we plan out what we wanted to achieve by paying close attention to what would be the short-term and long-term goals. We have read about people in their fields of interest who achieved success at any level of their lives.  


In this lesson, we shall be having a conversation about goals, that we have set in the short-term and long-term. Discuss our thoughts on the importance of having a goal, whether we are of different gender, race, status, and business.


Vocabulary:

achieve        /əˈCHēv/ v. successfully reach the desired objective by effort, skill, or courage   

goal             /ɡōl/ n. the object of a person's ambition or effort  

long-term   /lȯŋ-ˈtərm/ adj.  takes about three to five years (or even longer) to achieve. It requires and consists of many smaller, short-term goals.

motivate     /ˈmō-tə-ˌvāt/ trans. v. stimulate (someone's interest in or enthusiasm for doing something.

short-term  /ˈshȯrt-ˌtərm/ adj. can be finished within a six-month to three years.
